TITLE: Principal Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent and skills for the successful performance of the tasks assigned.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide the necessary clerical responsibilities required for the
administration of the school district in order to assure the smooth,
efficient operation of the school office.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep all information confidential.
- Act as receptionist in answering the telephone and greeting visitors.
- Arrange appointments and screen visitors.
- Type and proofread correspondence.
- Organize and maintain a filing system.
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of educational reports and research documents.
- Operate office machinery.
- Is courteous, cooperative, and dependable.
- Maintain confidential nature of all school related matters.
- Perform necessary functions unique to the particular secretarial position for which employed, plus some of which are listed below:
- Assistant to the transportation director.
- Inventories classroom supplies kept in the office.
- Building purchases.
- Enter middle school scheduling.
- Follow all requirements set forth by DESE and District Board Policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Education or administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Eleven month employment. Salary set by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of District Board Policy. |
