Job Title: Summer School Teacher

Reports To: Principal

Supervises: Para-professionals, students

Terms of Employment: 18 days

Salary: $30/hr ($4,320 total contract)

Job Goal: To provide a quality instructional program for students in a safe, orderly, and positive school environment through the creation and execution of engaging, standards-aligned coursework, measurable student growth, and enriched learning experiences.

Summer school includes a robust activities schedule. Teachers are responsible for supervising students during the following:



Certification Requirements

All teachers must hold the appropriate Missouri teacher certification at the proper level and academic area of service as required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Implement board and administration policies.
  2. Guide students in the learning process to achieve Missouri Learning Standards.
  3. Create a safe, orderly, and positive environment for learning.
  4. Maintain good discipline in the classroom, school, and during off-site field trips.
  5. Be a positive role model for students and peers.
  6. Accurately maintain records, including student progress, grades, and attendance.
  7. Foster communication and cooperation between the home and school.
  8. Maintain professional working relationships with staff and para-professionals.
  9. Participate in the feedback cycle of summer school programs.
  10. Follow all requirements set forth by DESE and district board policies.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
