TITLE: Bus Maintenance Technician
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of or experience with transportation issues, including school and state laws.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Certified Bus Mechanic.
- CDL including P & S endorsements.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
JOB GOAL: The goal of bus service coordinator is to assure students a safe
ride to and from school and to and from all school sponsored
activities. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining buses in
good condition and performing required repairs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check to assure proper maintenance of district busses.
- Assist transportation director when assigned.
- Maintain all busses, keep them mechanically operational.
- Monitor bus activity with the transportation director.
- Complete all forms as required by the Department of Education.
- Assure proper maintenance and safety of buses used by district; Pass bus inspections.
- Conduct random inspections of buses.
- Follow all requirements set forth by DESE and District Board Policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Education or administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month employment.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of District Board Policy.
